How to Use Perfect with WebSockets

At a FirstMark Code Driven NYC meetup, the PerfectlySoft team was on-hand to delve into how Swift developers can leverage Perfect when programming with WebSockets

By Lucas Chang

At Code Driven NYC #9 on April 13, Sean and Kyle were invited to share some history and context about Perfect, and provide examples of how to use it with WebSockets.

Code Driven NYC is a community organized by FirstMark, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City that brings together leading developers from across the tech ecosystem to learn about software engineering, get inspired, and have fun.

FirstMark also brings together other communities, as they host Design Driven NYC (for product and UX design leaders) and Hardwired NYC (for leaders from the internet of things, 3-D printing, hardware, augmented reality, virtual reality, drones/UAVs, and wearable computing areas).

Sean’s and Kyle’s presentations followed other speakers – Cassidy Williams (Software Engineer and Developer Evangelist at Clarifai) who spoke about "Convolutional Neural Networks in Practice", and Nick Hasty (Head of Engineering at Giphy), whose presentation was entitled, "Why GIFs and Why Now."

All three talks explored interesting and provocative threads, shared interesting histories, and left the audience with calls to action. It was an educational, inspiring, and fun evening. Thanks to FirstMark for inviting Sean and Kyle to speak, and for hosting this great event (with some pretty cool people).

If you missed #CodeDrivenNYC and would like to watch Sean’s and Kyle's talk, FirstMark was kind enough to film and post it.
